RAHIM YAR KHAN: There are four people in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) who aspire to be the prime minister as a substitute for Prime Minister Imran Khan and are contacting the opposition, says PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal.

Speaking at a press conference at Sadiqabad on Tuesday night, Iqbal said the speech of Imran Khan a few days back was a speech of a failed, defeated and depressed leader and the 220 million people of the country would question him because he damaged the CPEC and the future of the country.

He said the resignation of Shehzad Akbar had exposed the claims of the government which it made by making false cases against the PML-N and in each courts released them honorably. He said the Supreme Court had written that NAB was being used for political engineering. He demanded that the name of the NAB chairman and Shehzad Akbar be put on the ECL because both these persons would try to escape from the country.

He further said the Titanic of the PTI was sinking Imran Khan and all his cabinet members would try to leave the country. He said the government would be finished and there would be general election before local polls.

He criticised the PTI for wishing to impose a local system in Punjab where the representatives would exist only on paper. The people of Punjab, he said, would not accept such a system because the representatives would be slaves of bureaucracy.

It was a mistake of the PML-N government, he said, that it did not sentence Khan for attacking parliament. He alleged that Khan embezzled foreign gifts as he did not provide the details to the masses and it was proved that Khan received billions of rupees in foreign funding case, kept this amount in his personal accounts and concealed it from election commission and got certificate of “Sadiq and Ameen” from Saqib Nisar.
