KARACHI: Unseeded Uzair Shoukat joined three other seeded players as the Sindh Satellite Squash Champ­ionships reached the last-four stage here at the Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Thursday.

Uzair inflicted a 11-7, 11-7, 11-5 defeat upon Junaid Khan who had earlier sent third seed Faizan Khan packing 11-3, 11-7, 12-10 in the second round.

Top seed Naveed Rehman, second seed Saeed Abdul and fourth seed Ashab Irfan justified their billing by making it to the semis.

Naveed got the better of Mutahir Ali 11-7, 15-13, 5-11, 11-3 while Saeed overcame Khushal Riaz 11-6, 11-9, 11-6 and Ashab carved out a 11-13, 11-6, 11-5, 11-5 victory over Huzaifa Shahid in their respective quarter-finals.

The quarter-finals were preceded by second-round matches in the morning.

Meanwhile, women’s top quartet namely Zaynab Khan, Noor-ul-Huda, Rooshna Mehboob and Anum Mustafa reached the semi-finals.

Top seed Zaynab humbled Mehvish Ali 11-2, 11-4, 11-7 while second seed Noor outclassed Ilsa Imran 11-8, 11-2, 11-7.

Similarly, third seed Rooshna outplayed Aiman Shahbaz straight 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 while fourth seed Anum struggled to whip Sana Bahadur 5-11, 11-7, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9 in a fully stretched duel.

The semi-finals will be played on Friday.
