ISLAMABAD: The federal government’s subsidised ration programme has received 19 million applications after which the online registration service 8171 was closed.

Ehsaas National Socio-Economic Registry is being used to select beneficiary families. A steering committee has been especially constituted to analyse the data of applicants to determine their eligibility.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protec­tion Senator Dr Sania Nishtar presided over the meeting of the Poverty Alle­viation and Social Safety Division for the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat programme on Thursday.
