MANSEHRA: The police on Friday arrested a homeopath here after seizing hundreds of liquor bottles in his clinic.

Mohammad Shafiq, whose clinic in the city was raided on a tip-off, was shifted to the police station for investigation.

A news release issued by the police department said the arrested homeopath secretly sold liquor in his clinic and action against him was ordered by district police officer Sajjad Khan.

SEAT ADJUSTMENT: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has said it doesn’t rule out the possibility of seat adjustment with any political party for the second phase of local body elections in Hazara division.

“We [PTI] have received around 100 applications seeking our nomination for tehsil mayor election in seven districts of Hazara division,” PTI coordinator in Hazara and federal parliamentary secretary Salah Mohammad Khan told reporters here on Friday.

Mr Salah said the ruling party would make seat adjustment even with the opposition Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl if that move served its interests.

“No party has approached us for electoral alliance or seat adjustment nor have we [PTI] contacted anyone, but the possibility of such an arrangement can’t be ruled out in the party’s larger interest,” he said.

The PTI leader said the party would field the strongest candidates in the next phase of local body elections.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Ajmal Khan Swati has said he is confident that the party will name him for the election of the Mansehra tehsil mayor.

Formallylaunching a campaign here, Mr Swati, who is theformer spokesman for the PTI Hazara division governing body, said the ruling party would sweep the next phase of local body elections in the province, especiallyMansehra district.
