RAWALPINDI: A total of 55 incidents of street crime were reported in the garrison city whereby cash and valuables were taken away.

Eight motorcycles, four cars and 25 mobile phones worth over Rs7.3 million were snatched from people by suspects. All these incidents took place on Saturday.

Raja Afaq, resident of city police area, was robbed of Rs28,000, a mobile phone and a driving licence by two robbers. Mohammad Shabir was robbed of Rs10,000 by two robbers while Mohammad Wasim was deprived of Rs50,000 by two robbers in Waris Khan police area.

Mohammad Imran, resident of Satellite Town, complained to police that two gunmen entered his house and snatched gold jewellery worth Rs7,750,000 from his wife after threatening her.

Mohammad Wasim complained to Waris Khan police that he was attending a phone call outside his house when two gunmen appeared at the scene and threatened to kill him. The gunmen snatched his phone and his bag that had Rs108,000.

Mohammad Wasim Azeem was robbed of Rs50,000 and two mobile phones by robbers in Waris Khan police area whereas Naveed Ali Shah was robbed of cash and mobile phones by two robbers in Sadiqabad.

Zafar Iqbal Qureshi’s car worth Rs2,500,000 was stolen from Waris Khan area, Shoaib Yamin’s car worth Rs450,000 was taken away from Westridge, Mohammad Tatheer Khan’s car worth Rs 550,000 was lifted from Morgah while Khalid Mehmood’s carry van worth Rs700,000 was stolen from Taxila and Mohammad Yaqoob’s car worth Rs35,72,000 from Wah Cantonment.

Zeeshan Siddique, resident of Morgah, complained to police that he had gone to attend a wedding party after locking his house. Upon return, he found the lock of his house broken and Rs3,000,000 stolen. Syed Abid Ali’s house was ransacked by burglars who escaped with Rs750,000 and Rs10,000.

Shahab Qasir, Noman Ahmad, Amanullah, Faisal Mehmood, Tayyab Ali and Mohammad Awais were among those who lost their motorcycles.
