LAHORE: Key literary and cultural events of Lahore have been rescheduled owing to the current wave of Covid.

The decision had been taken at a recent meeting at the Alhamra Arts Centre. LAC Board of Governors chairperson Moneeza Hashmi presided over the meeting and Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi and others participated.

The Faiz International Festival will be held from March 4 to 6. Earlier, the festival was scheduled to be held from Feb 11 to 13. The theatre festival’s new dates are Jan 31 to Feb 6. During the seven-day festival, dramas Junoon, Dastan Hazrat Insan, Hor Da Hor, Meda Ishq We Tou, Sawanri, Lapar, Mara Hua Kutta and Deewana Bakaar Khawesh Hushiyar would be presented by theatre groups.

Moneeza Hashmi said March would bring a spring of festivals. She said preparations had been made to keep the spirit and tradition of the Faiz festival alive.

Mr Zulfi said Alhamra would present new programmes for the people on the arrival of spring, and the colourful and rich culture of Punjab would be fully presented to the world in between. An international conference on Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal and the Lahore Literary Festival also would be held in March.
