KOHAT: Disgruntled leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in Kohat district have decided to end rift after a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
A statement issued from the PTI district secretariat here on Sunday, said chairman of parliamentary committee on Kashmir MNA Shehryar Afridi had taken Lachi tehsil chairman-elect Mohammad Ehsan and Shafiullah Jan, an independent candidate for Kohat city mayor’s slot, to Islamabad for a meeting with the prime minister.
They first met defence minister Pervez Khattak and information technology minister Shibli Faraz, and then the prime minister.
The prime minister urged them to shun all past differences and strengthen the party in the district. The disgruntled leaders agreed to forget the past and work for strengthening the party in Kohat. Gumbat tehsil chairman-elect Sajid Iqbal was also present on the occasion.
ELECTIONS: Cabinets of Kohat Press Club and Kohat Union of Journalists were elected for 2022 on Sunday.
Noor Mohammad Bangash was elected president of the press club for the fifth consecutive term. Faisal Nadeem was elected general secretary and Kamran Bangash vice-president. Qazi Noor Khan, Allah Dad Khan, Bashir Jan and Yaseen Awan were elected executive body members of the press club.
Farhan Ahmed Bangash was elected president of the union of journalists, Khalid Makki general secretary, Fazal Mehmood senior vice-president and Yasir Shah vice-president. Mohammad Sajid, Shakoor Ahmed and Abid Hussain were elected executive body members.
