KOHAT: Two traffic wardens lost their lives when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at them in Doaba town of Hangu district on Monday.

According to an official of Doaba police station, traffic officer Ayeen Hussain was on duty along with constable Spinzar Khan when they came under fire.

The gunmen fled the scene after carrying out the shooting in Thall tehsil. Ayeen Hussain belonged to the Ganjiano Kalay area of Hangu while Spinzar Jan was a resident of Dalan area in Thall tehsil.

An official of the regional counter-terrorism department told Dawn by phone that a case under sections 7 ATA, 320, and 120 B had been registered against the terrorists.
