ISLAMABAD: Over 1,000 Covid-19 patients surfaced in the federal capital while three persons succumbed to the virus on Monday.

The positivity rate in both Rawalpindi and Islamabad hovered over 14pc.

According to officials of the capital administration, 7,164 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours out of which results of 1,024 people came back positive. Out of the total positive patients, 627 were males and 397 females.

The positivity rate in the federal capital was recorded at 14.29pc.

The officials said 235 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, 210 were in the age bracket of 30-39, 163 were in the 0-9 age group, 140 in 40-49, 105 in 50-59, 97 in 10-19, 43 in 60-69, 25 in 70-79 and six were in their 80s.

Likewise, 37 cases were reported from Loi Bher, 25 from Rawat, 24 from I-8, 21 from G-9, 19 from E-11, 17 from F-10, 16 from G-11, 15 from F-11, 14 from G-10, 10 from Khanna, nine from G-8, eight each from F-8, F-6 and Bhara Kahu, seven each from G-6, G-13 and I-10, six from Model Town Humak, five from I-9, four each from G-7, Sihala, Alipur and B-17, three each from Sohan, D-17 and Tarlai, two each from G-5, F-7, Chak Shahzad, G-15, G-14, Kirpa, F-15, Chirrah, I-14, H-10, E-8 and F-17 and one each from Koral, I-12, Rawal Town, E-7, H-11, H-13, Saidpur, Tarnol and Phulgran.

The number of active cases in the capital has risen to 14,211, with 95 patients under treatment in different hospitals. Among them 74 required oxygen support and 21 were on ventilators.

The remaining positive cases were isolated in their houses.

APP ADDS: Three patients passed away and 146 more people tested positive in Rawalpindi district, raising the tally to 44,239.

In the last 24 hours, 940 samples were collected, out of which 794 were declared negative. The positivity rate was calculated at 15.53pc.

According to data released by the District Health Authority, 41,004 positive cases were from Rawalpindi and 3,235 from other districts.

Among the new patients, 47 were from Rawalpindi Cantonment, 33 from Potohar Town, 31 from Rawal Town, 13 from Taxila, five from Gujar Khan, four from Azad Kashmir, three from Attock and Kallar Syedan, two each from Islamabad and Kahuta while one case each came from Abbottabad, Khushab and Gilgit.

“At present, 92 patients are admitted to seven health facilities - 42 in the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, 31 in Fauji Foundation Hospital, nine in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, seven in Holy Family Hospital and one each in Bilal Hospital, Attock Hospital and Hearts International Hospital.

Moreover, five patients are on ventilators and 45 on double oxygen support.

The District Health Authority said 2,927 patients were isolated - 2,861 in their homes and 66 in isolation centres.
