QUETTA: Differences emerged on Tuesday during a meeting of the Balochistan Cabinet when some ministers, including Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, opposed the induction of schemes in the current Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the opposition members who had helped Mir Qudoos Bizenjo become chief minister.

The cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Mir Qudoos Bizenjo discussed a 32-point agenda, which included approval of new development schemes for the opposition members.

Mr Buledi opposed the induction of new development schemes in the current PSDP and staged a walkout from the meeting when the issue came under discussion.

The minister disclosed this in a tweet that he and some other ministers had walked out from the cabinet meeting. He said that the inclusion of schemes in the third quarter of the financial year was a violation of the Planning Commission’s guidelines as well as the Provincial Financial Management Act.

“Such a decision would have a negative impact on the PSDP,” he said.

Parliamentary secretary on information and special education Bushra Rind said that only senior minister Zahoor Buledi walked out from the cabinet meeting and no other minister followed him. “It is democracy and anyone can speak freely,” she said.
