KARACHI: The Karachi Race Club (KRC) joins the nation to show solidarity with people of Kashmir by organising the Kashmir Day Cup in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The Kashmir Day Cup features prominently in a five-race card that has been drawn for the day.

A field of nine horses will battle it out for honours in the Kashmir Day Cup which has been classified under combined scale order III and IV and will go over four-and-a-half furlongs. It is the fourth race in racing order.

Half-a-dozen horses are in contention for glory in the fifth and concluding race — combined scale order I and II — which is also the day’s feature event and will be run over five furlongs.

Another six horses will face the starter in the opening race while seven horses will vie for honours in the second. Both the races will be contested over four furlongs. Five horses will appear in the third race.

The first race starts at 2.30pm.
