TAXILA: District Coordination Committee Attock chairman MNA Tahir Sadiq has directed departments to expedite work on development projects and set a deadline for their completion.

He was presiding over a meeting of the committee at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Tahir Sadiq urged the officials to ensure transparency and quality of work in the execution of different projects, especially those of building, roads and public health engineering department.

He said the projects should be completed within the stipulated time, adding that strict action should be taken against artificial shortage of fertilisers and profiteering.

The MNA said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government was using all available resources for the welfare of people and completing several development schemes in the district at a fast pace.

He said the government had allocated record funds for improvement of municipal services and now it was the responsibility of the department concerned to ensure cleanliness in the city.

He also ordered for taking emergency measures to solve longstanding sewage problems of the district.

Mr Sadiq said efforts were being made to solve the problems being faced by people, adding that different development schemes were underway and their timely completion and quality of work was being ensured.

He said the government was giving priority to the development of the district and prosperity of its people and also lauded the health card policy for the benefit of the poor.

During the meeting matters related to health, education, restoration of infrastructure, Gondal Cattle Market issues, encroachments, entrance gate on Hattian Road, electrification of Boys College Hassanabdal and issues related to Hassanabdal Sports Stadium were discussed.
