The police said Malik Iqbal along with his family was coming from Islamabad when his car came under attack near Marai village. His wife died on the spot while he was injured critically. The body and the injured were shifted to a hospital.

The police have registered a case against the unknown attackers.

The police said an old enmity could be the cause of the attack.

Meanwhile, body cam recorders were attacked to the uniforms of traffic wardens at a function held here on Sunday to keep track of their activities during the duty hours.

Speaking at the function held at the traffic headquarters, SP investigations Syed Inayatullah Shah said traffic wardens had been connected to the electronic surveillance and monitoring system to check corruption and their behaviour with the public.

He said the BCRs had the capacity to record four hours of activities.

Mr Shah said a campaign had been launched for creating awareness among the public about observance of traffic laws.
