POWER SUPPLY DISCONNECTED: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has disconnected power supply to rural health centre, Kunda, in Chota Lahor tehsil after its failure to pay Rs1 million electricity bills, officials said here on Tuesday.

The Pesco officials told this correspondent the RHC had been shifted to the building of government high school, Kunda, after the government’s decision to build a women and children hospital at its site.

When contacted, officials at the RHC said there was no water due to disconnection of electricity, causing inconvenience to the staff and patients. They urged the Pesco to restore power supply to facilitate treatment of patients.

However, the Pesco officials said the RHC should pay the bill so that the power supply could be restored.
