MUZAFFARABAD: The second Ganga Choti winter sports competition will begin in the snow-capped meadows of Azad and Jammu Kashmir’s Bagh district on Thursday with teams from the region, rest of Pakistan and Afghanistan among the participants, an organiser said.

The three-day event is being held under the aegis of AJK Winter Sports Association in collaboration with the AJK government’s department of sports and tourism and a private company, said Engr Raja Aqeel Khurshid, the secretary general of the association.

Mr Khurshid told Dawn that on the first two days of the gala, alpine skiing, snow-boarding and ice-skating competitions would be held between 11am and 3pm. According to Khurshid, six teams of boys and three teams of girls will be participating in the event.
