LARKANA, Nov 27: Police on Saturday night registered an FIR against 36 policemen, including a TPO, two SHOs and 11 ASIs of Shahdadkot and Mirokhan police stations.

The Sindh High Court, Larkana bench, had ordered registration of the FIR after hearing a petition of Yasmin Khoso of Shahdadkot, on Nov 17. The case was registered under sections 451, 452, 337-A and 220, PPC, and 17(3), Hudood Ordinance.

Those booked include Sardar Khan Chandio, former TPO of Shahdadkot and now in-charge of the Qambar crime investigation cell, SHO Tariq Jalbani, Aijaz Ali Massan, SHO of Mirokhan, and ASIs Ghulam Mustfa Abbasi, Mehtab Khuhawar, Ghulam Mustafa Khuhawar, Abdul Ghafoor Chutto, Razzak Jatoi, Mashooq Chandio, Imdad Rahoojo, Munwar Chandio, Rehmatullah Abbasi, Karim Bux Chandio and Jan Mohammad Samtio.

The woman had stated in the FIR that 40 to 50 policemen, who had come in eight mobiles, had entered her house on Nov 3 and searched for her brother, ASI Dilijan Magsi, following the murder of Latif Chandio, a bodyguard of the Qambar taluka nazim, on Nov 2. She alleged that police had arrested her, Rani Magsi, Shama Magsi and Tariq Magsi and taken away household articles and cash.

SHELTER: Fearing that she would be murdered on the pretext of karo-kari, Zahida, daughter of Ghulam Hussain Mangi, of the Shato Mangi village, Garhi Yasin, took shelter at the 15 Madadgar post here on Saturday night.

She alleged that her husband, Urs, wanted to kill her as kari.

Sources said police on duty at 15 Madadgar referred her to the women police station for protection. The woman will be produced in the court on Monday for her statement.
