NUSHKI: Police confiscated 400 bags of urea during snap checking on the RCD Highway near Nushki Cadet College on Thursday night.

District Police Officer Ghulam Hussain Bajoi told Dawn that the urea was hidden in secret compartments of a bus parked near the highway. The urea was being smuggled to Afghanistan, he added.

Mr Bajoi said the bus driver was taken into custody who, along with the bus and recovered urea, was later handed over to Customs personnel.

Customs officials have started an investigation into the matter after registration of a report.
