BAHAWALPUR: Messrs Mir, Bebrak and Zohaib captured first, second and third positions respectively in the stock category of the jeep rally at Derawar Fort on Saturday.

Dr Raheel Siddiqui, former Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) chairman, said that according to unofficial results, Mir covered 230 kilometre distance in two hours, eighteen minutes and fifty-three seconds (2-18-53) followed by Bebrak in two hours, twenty minutes and fifty-eight seconds (2-20-58) and Zohaib in two hours, twenty-one minutes and eighteen seconds (2-21-18).

In the women’s category, Ms Nida Wasti was leading in the rally. More than 50 drivers participated in the stock category.

Sunday would be the concluding day of the week-long jeep rally and the second and final round of the competition between prepared category drivers would be held near Dilwash Stadium in Cholistan.

The final results would be compiled on the basis of the performance in both rounds held on Friday and Sunday.

IJAZ: PML-Z faction chief Ijazul Haq says neither the PDM is in a position to launch a long march nor can it table a no-trust motion against the government.

At a function held here on Friday, he said those who should be in jails and wanted to drag each other in the streets were now embracing each other.

He said the government had only 10 overs left and it could survive only with its good performance.
