NAROWAL: The Punjab Health Department has suspended four health employees including a deputy district health officer (DDHO) and a lady doctor from service over fake entry of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s Covid-19 vaccination.

The health authorities conducted an investigation and took action against the four employees.

The issue surfaced when official record showed that the former premier was vaccinated against coronavirus on Oct 3, 2021, at a centre at the Narowal Public School.

District Health Authority CEO Dr Khalid Javed took immediate action against the fake entry and had a case registered against some officials. CM Usman Buzdar also ordered an inquiry.

After completion of the inquiry, the Primary and Secondary Health Department has now suspended DDHO Dr Khalid Mahmood, vaccination

centre in-charge Dr Rimsha Maqsood, School Health Supervisor Nasir Rauf and vaccinator Saqib.

The authorities have also ordered a departmental action against the health employees under the PEEDA Act 2006 for misconduct and inefficiency.

COP PENALISED: A head constable was suspended from service after an incident of aerial firing, violation of sound system rules and dance at the wedding of his brother.

Police also arrested the man involved in aerial firing and issued a show-cause notice to the SHO for negligence.

Head constable Salamat Ali’s brother arranged his wedding at Ahal Silhariyan village in Sialkot and a video of aerial firing and other violations went viral on social media.

Police spokesperson Khurram Shahzad said DPO Hassan Iqbal took notice and asked the Sabz Pir police station to take action. SHO Naeem in order to save the skin of Salamat registered a case of aerial firing against Rizwan and arrested him. Police also did not added sections related to violation of sound system and dance.

The DPO issued a show-cause notice to the SHO and suspended Salamat Ali from service.
