Jurassic World: Dominion ends the franchise

Jurassic Park: Dominion reveals what happens when humans are no longer the dominant species.

Picking up from 2018’s Fallen Kingdom, Dominion sees humanity attempting to live alongside dinosaurs and failing miserably.

“Humans and dinosaurs can’t coexist,” says Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing. “We’ve created an ecological disaster.”

Claire, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), and others who represent the “modern” Jurassic World era will team up with the “original” Jurassic Park heroes returning in Dominion, including the characters played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, BD Wong, and Jeff Goldblum. They look as timeless as ever. Jurassic World: Dominion is set to release on June 10.

A new planet discovered in our galactic neighbourhood

A team of astronomers has found a third planet orbiting around the nearest star to our Solar System, Proxima Centauri. Due to its relative proximity (hence the name!) to Earth, this mysterious star system is an ideal target for a future mission to explore a world beyond the boundaries of our own stellar system.

The discovery is detailed in a study published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics. It was detected using the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (ESO’s VLT) in Chile.

Proxima Centauri, the closest star system to our own, is a low-mass red dwarf star, about an eighth of the mass of the Sun and 500 times less bright. It is located 4.2 light-years away from our Solar System and consists of two stars interlocked in an orbit around each other. It is too small and too dim to see with the naked eye from our planet.

The planet orbits the star at a distance of roughly 4.7 million miles, with an orbital period of approximately 11.2 days. It is about the same size as Earth, and orbits within its star’s habitable zone.

Moon Knight’s first trailer

Moon Knight has arrived. A new trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios’ series, along with the first look at a new poster, debuted during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup.

The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Moon Knight premieres exclusively on Disney+ on March 30.
