MARDAN: Anjuman-i-Kashtkaran has demanded of the government to reduce the markup on agricultural loans and abolish the 28 per cent general sales tax on crop seeds.

A meeting of members of the farmers’ organisation was held here on Sunday to discuss ways to secure relief from the government for the growers.

Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Anjuman-i-Kashtkaraan provincial president Niamat Shah Roghani said that urea compost was urgently required for the wheat crop these days, but unfortunately it was available only in the black market at the price double than the officially notified.
