PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief on Thursday posted Mohammad Ijaz Khan as the capital city police officer (CCPO) Peshawar.
A notification issued by the Central Police Office said that through exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (4) of section 17 of the KP Police Act 2017, the provincial police officer has transferred Mohammad Ijaz Khan (PSP), BS-20, deputy inspector of general police Special Branch, and posted him as the CCPO Peshawar.
It said that the CCPO Peshawar, Abbas Ahsan (PSP), BS-20, has been transferred and posted as DIG headquarters at the CPO. Besides, Saqib Ismail Memom (PSP), BS-20, serving as DIG headquarters, has been also been transferred and posted as DIG Special Branch KP.
The provincial government had earlier posted Mr Ahsan as the CCPO Peshawar in 2020.
On the other hand, the newly-appointed CCPO Peshawar was heading the Special Branch. Before this he also served as the regional police officer of Malakand and Kohat.
He had also served as the SSP coordination Peshawar and also headed the city police’s project coordination unit formed to construct 31 bomb proof police stations around the city.
