GUJAR KHAN: Opposition parties pose no genuine threat to the elected government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), said Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Sunday.
Talking to media in Pind Dadan Khan, he said: “We have been hearing for the last 15 to 20 days about the opposition’s plan of bringing a no-trust move against the prime minister; however, that is beyond their (opposition’s) potential,” he said.
Responding to a question, Mr Fawad said PTI leader Jahangir Tareen stands by the party and would continue to support the government. About the prime minister’s visit to Russia, he said Pakistan showed an independent foreign policy.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan is a courageous leader and the nation ought to have a leader with reputation at the national and international level.”
He said opposition parties had lost their reputation at home and abroad due to their alleged corruption.
The minister said the premier always criticised and opposed war in the world. Pakistan has always played its role for promotion of peace in the world.
