One dies in Hub blast

KARACHI: A man died while two others were injured in an explosion inside a car at Hub Chowki on Sunday night.

According to the Edhi Foundation, the blast occurred near a hotel, causing injury to three persons. They were brought to Karachi’s Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, but one of them died during treatment, said Shahid Umar, an official at the hospital.

The deceased was identified as Agha Habibullah Shah, 40.

According to the official, Habibullah was brought in a critical condition and died soon after arrival. The injured were identified as Maqbool Ahmed, 30, and Changez Khan, 35.

A crowd has started converging on the hospital, the official added.

There was no word from the administration about the nature of the explosion.
