TAXILA: Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Thursday said ‘umpire’ and government were on the same page in the national interest and the ‘umpire’ should not be made controversial.

He was talking to newsmen in Wah Cantt after addressing a session held to raise awareness of the PTI government flagship Ehsaas programme.

He said opposition’s long march and no-confidence moves were only pressure tactics to get NRO, and such tactics would fail.

He said all the allies stood with the government, and rejected the impression that PML-Q was being merged into the PTI and Perviaz Elahi was becoming the Punjab chief minister.

He said all the allies and even Jehangir Tareen group were with the government and there were no differences among them.

He said Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had finalised a schedule to launch an operation to evacuate Pakistanis left stranded in Ukraine and Poland.

“We initially plan to send two special flights of Boeing 777 to the Polish capital Warsaw to bring back Pakistanis, mostly students fled from the war-hit Ukraine and now taking shelter in Poland,” he added.
