DERA GHAZI KHAN: Assistant Commissioner Mohsin Nisar seized 500 bags of fertilizer hidden under the load of salt on a truck and got truck driver Asmat Allah arrested on Friday.

The fertiliser was being supplied from Multan to Kohat.

The AC said the government would not allow the violation of the basic rights of farmers. He said the availability of fertilizer to farmers at the official rate was being ensured.

POLICE: The Kot Chhatta DSP has recommended action against the Kot Chhatta police moharrar for handing over vehicles impounded by the excise office to their owners illegally.

According to Excise Director Muhammad Asif, their officials impounded six tractor-trolleys, seven motorcycles and one car and parked at the police station for having no registration documents.

Later, moharrar Muhammad Tahir released them to their owners without consulting the excise department.
