KARACHI: A man was shot dead allegedly by his young son in a Gulshan-i-Iqbal area on Sunday, police said.

They said that Bashir Ahmed, 50, was killed by his 20-year-old son Abdul Salam over some ‘family dispute’ inside their home in Block-11.

The suspect managed to escape from the crime scene.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for completing medico-legal formalities.

Body found in Hub Canal

The body of a young was found floating in Hub Canal near Manghopir on Sunday, police said.

They added that the body was fished out from the canal near ‘Bara Pull’ on the outskirts of the metropolis.

The corpse was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of his death. The identification of the victim could not be ascertained till late in the night.
