SWAT: The Swat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Pak-Afghan Joint Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) on Monday called for enhancing trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The demand was made at a joint meeting held here with SCCI president Adnan Ali in the chair.

Swat chamber members, including Omar Mohammad, Niqab Ahmed, Habibur Rehman, Khurshid Anwar, Mohammad Iqbal, Noman Bashir, Fazal Wadud and office-bearers of PAJCCI, including Ajmal Safi, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi and others were also present.

The participants emphasised that both the neighbouring countries should strengthen and expand trade relations for a better future. They said both Islamabad and Kabul were facing economic challenges, and a boost in bilateral trade and economic cooperation could lift their economies.

They said economic cooperation and better trade and transit facilities could help the two countries connect with Central Asia with South Asia. The leaders of the two chambers decided to continue to work together to resolve issues facing the traders of both the countries.
