RAWALPINDI: Two persons were shot dead while another was injured during a family dispute in Dhoke Chiragh Din. Besides, another person was murdered allegedly by his brother in Chauntra area.

Police said the suspect shot his wife Khushboo, mother-in-law Nasreen Akhtar and a neighbour, Hassan Ali.

Rohail Khalid, a resident of Dhoke Chairagh Din, said he was sitting with his mother Nasreen Akhtar and sisters Komal, Kiran and Khushboo in his house at 9:30pm on Thursday when his brother-in-law began to quarrel with his sister and shot her.

In the meantime, he said, his mother Nasreen attempted to save her daughter but she was also shot. The suspect was able to escape from the spot.

Rohail Khalid said the injured were shifted to the hospital where his mother passed away. Later it was revealed that the suspect had also shot Hassan dead.

Abida Perveen, who is Ali’s mother, lodged a separate murder case against the suspect. She said she, her husband and nephew came out of their house on hearing gunshots and saw the suspect shoot her son.

She said her son succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to the hospital, adding that the motive behind the murder of her son may have been an old enmity.

Meanwhile, another man was murdered, allegedly by his brother, in the jurisdiction of Chauntra police area.

The wife of the deceased lodged a first information report (FIR) with police saying that her husband, son and daughter were at home when her husband got annoyed over some issue and started taunting her loudly.

She said upon hearing her husband shouting, her brother-in-law who lived in the neighbourhood came and started fighting with his brother (her husband). While they were quarrelling, her brother-in-law pulled out his pistol and shot her husband who later died. The alleged killer escaped from the scene.
