SUKKUR: A man allegedly shot dead his wife and nephew on suspicion of an extramarital affair between them in Shehdad Bhayo village near Ghouspur town of Kandhkot-Kashmore district.

Saddam Bhayo used his double-barrel gun to commit the double murder on Friday, residents of the village told the police.

Parents of the 30-year-old Insaf Bhayo said Saddam had invited their son to his home for an overnight stay. “The next morning, Saddam spoke to me by phone to tell me that he had shot dead Insaf and thrown his body outside my home,” Insaf’s father told the police.

Meanwhile, the Ghouspur police started a hunt for Saddam, who escaped from the village after allegedly committing the crime. They were also searching for the woman’s body.

Insaf’s body was taken to the Kandhkot Taluka Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
