MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK)Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazion Saturdayexhorted officials to ensure proper and timely disbursement of developmentfundsso that work on the ongoingdevelopment projects couldbeaccomplishedwithin the stipulated time frame.

He passed this direction during a surprise visit to the under-constructionKotli-Nakyal Road to see for himself the implementation pace and construction quality of the project.

Mr Niazi said it was binding upon the highways department to ensure standard of construction so as to win the hearts of the beneficiary population.

“Good quality roads not only changethe fate of the areas concerned but they also protect and increasethe lives of the passengers and transport, respectively,” he said, adding that, “there was no shortage of funds butthe most important thing was proper, transparent and timely utilisation of resources”.

The prime minister made it clear that his government would never compromise on the quality and deadline of development projects.

“When funds for development projectsarebeing released on time, no excuse about delay can be entertained,” he said, warning that strict action would be taken in case aprojectwasdelayed due toany negligence either on the part of the department or the contractor concerned.
