ISLAMABAD: The federal capital reported 30 new Covid-19 cases while Rawalpindi saw the emergence of only six patients on Saturday.

According to officials of the capital administration, during the last 24 hours, 2,110 tests were conducted in Islamabad out of whom 18 males and 12 females tested positive. The positivity ratio was recorded at 1.42pc in Islamabad district.

The officials said eight cases were recorded in the age group of 30-39, followed by seven each in the age bracket of 20-29 and 40-49, three were in their 50s, two each were in the age groups of 10-19 and 70-79 while patient belonged to the age group of 60-69.

Likewise, four cases were reported from Lohi Bher, two each from Bhara Kahu and Kirpa and one each from E-11, G-10, F-7, G-13, I-8, E-7, F-6, G-6 and G-7, the officials said.

There are 311 active cases of the virus in Islamabad as of Saturday, the officials said, adding that out of the total, 30 were admitted to hospitals.

Since the outbreak of the virus in the capital, 134,797 residents contracted Covid-19 out of whom 133,466 recovered and 1,020 died.

On the other hand, Rawalpindi’s positivity rate fell to 0.5pc on Saturday as only six people tested positive and 22 recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours.

According to health authority’s data, the infection ratio in the district was recorded at 0.52pc.

A total of 1,135 samples were collected out of which results of only six people came back positive.

There are 111 active patients in Rawalpindi district as of March 12 out of whom seven are in hospitals and 104 home isolated.

One patient each was reported from the city areas, Taxila and Azad Kashmir while three patients surfaced in Kotli Sattian.

Seven people were admitted to various hospitals of Rawalpindi city out of whom one was in Bilal Hospital, two in Fauji Foundation Hospital and four patients were under treatment in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology.

There is one patient on ventilator, five are on oxygen and one is stable.
