KOHAT: Two children and a teenage girl were killed and seven others, including three women, injured when a gas cylinder exploded in far-flung Jawaki area of the Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision on Wednesday.

Two rooms of the house also collapsed in the blast, which took place in Landiwal locality when women were cooking food.

An elder Millat Khan Afridi said the blast occurred as soon as the children entered their home after returning from school.

The deceased included Ajwa Bibi, 3, Romana Bibi, 4, and Kainat Bibi, 19.

The injured were identified as four-month-old Aryan, five-month-old Zulekha, Kiran, 2, Ali, 17, Wajida, 20, Nazia, 25, and Sanya, 20.

The injured were referred to a Peshawar hospital after receiving first aid at the KDA Teaching Hospital.
