KARACHI: Calling for action from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the dissident lawmakers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Friday warned the rebellious MNAs that their move would “bury their political career”.

Though he was not sure about any decision by the federal government to impose governor rule in Sindh, Mr Ismail was confident that it would “take a minute” if the prime minister decided to use his constitutional power and bring some administrative changes in the province.

“All those showing some kind of change of heart must remember that people gave votes in the name of Imran Khan,” he said while talking to reporters in Surjani Town after inauguration of a dialysis centre being run by philanthropic organisation JDC.

“They cannot survive in politics if they go against the will of the people of Pakistan. But at the same time, I wonder over the Election Commission of Pakistan. It should take notice of the situation,” he said.

The Sindh governor said he was flying to Islamabad today (Saturday), where he would meet the prime minister to discuss a strategy in the wake of ongoing political challenge.

“We would give you and everyone a surprise,” he replied when asked about any possibility for the PM to survive the no-trust move when his over party MNAs were leaving him.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh vowed that the PTI would stage a massive power show in Islamabad on March 27, where people from all over the country, including Sindh, would show their support for the prime minister.

He was speaking at a press conference at his office in the Sindh Assembly building on Friday.

“Those who are against him are in fact part of those powers who don’t want him to lead this country and plead the case of the Ummah. But their conspiracy would meet failure. People from across Pakistan would be in Islamabad at D-Chowk on March 27. A caravan from Sindh with more than 1,000 vehicles would leave to become part of the rally,” he said.
