LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab President Shafqat Mahmood says the “anti-Pakistan forces” cannot digest the country’s progress, that is why they want to target Prime Minster Imran Khan.

“The [prime minister’s] words ‘absolutely not’ were shocking for them,” he told a meeting of the PTI’s Lahore district organisation and advisory council.

PTI’s Punjab information secretary Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and other party leaders from Lahore attended the meeting.

The meeting chalked-out a strategy with regard to the current political situation, especially the D Chowk rally announced by the party chairman.

The federal minister alleged that “anti-Pakistan forces” now wanted to remove Imran Khan from the prime minister’s office by hook or by crook and in this “global conspiracy”, some political parties of Pakistan were also involved.

In the current political situation, Mr Mahmood claimed, the popularity of Prime Minister Imran Khan had increased immensely and in response to his call millions of people were ready to attend the rally at Islamabad.

He said the opposition was attacking democracy by becoming a part of the “conspiracies by external forces”.

He said it was Imran Khan was a brave leader whose sole purpose was to make Pakistan strong and stable and highlighted its positive image all over the world.
