TAXILA: The Attock police have devised a foolproof security plan for mosques, imambargahs during Ramazan.

District police officer Rana Shoaib Mehmood told media that the district police would provide security cover to as many as 375 religious places including 337 mosques and 38 imambargahs.

He said that keeping in view the security level and sensitivity, these religious places and divided into three categories as 14 mosques and three imambargahs have been placed in category A, 35 mosques and one imambargah in category B while 288 mosques and 34 imambargahs have been placed in category C.

He said more than 1,000 officials, including 652 constables, six lady constables, 14 inspectors and six DSPs would be deployed for security duty. He said that about 900 volunteers would also be deployed while a 24-hour control room would be established at the district police office.

He said faithful would enter the mosques using walkthrough gates. He said police officials would also be deployed at six different Ramazan bazaars established in various parts of the district.
