ISLAMABAD: The federal capital reported the lowest positivity rate since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, the city has been reporting single-digit cases for the last three days.

According to a document available with Dawn, only 65 cases were reported during the last week and the weekly positivity was recorded at 0.65pc.

This was the lowest weekly ratio not only in the current (fifth) wave but also since the beginning of the pandemic. Last week’s positivity was 0.81pc with 72 cases reported. In the first week of March, the positivity was 1.39pc and there were 328 cases reported. In the first week of February, 4,864 cases were reported with the positivity rate of 10.26pc.

The highest positivity was reported in the last week of January when 9,037 cases were reported in a week and positivity was recorded at 16.45pc.

District Health Officer Dr Zaeem Zia in a message on social media stated that it was the lowest weekly percentage since the first wave.

Sharing the details of cases reported on Sunday, he said 1,260 samples were collected on Saturday of which five were found infected with the positivity rate of 0.4pc.

Rawalpindi

Two people tested positive in the district on Sunday and five patients were discharged from hospitals.

The positivity ratio was recorded at 0.32pc. A total of 622 samples were collected and 620 of them were declared negative. There are 30 active patients in the district - one patient is admitted at Bilal Hospital and is in a stable condition while 29 patients are home isolated.

One of the new patients arrived from the city and one from Attock.
