PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the authorities concerned to finalise the arrangements for launching work on the second phase of the Swat Motorway project next week.
He also directed the quarters concerned to expedite the PC-I for acquisition of land for the Dir Motorway project.
Mahmood Khan issued the directives while chairing a meeting of Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority on Monday, according to a statement issued here.
MPA Akbar Ayub Khan, additional chief secretary Shahab Ali Shah, secretary finance Ikramullah Khan, secretary communications and works Ijaz Ansari, special secretaries to chief minister and managing director PKHA attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress on different road projects, including the Swat Motorway’s Phase-II and Dir Motorway.
The meeting was informed that 88-kilometre motorway from Chakdara to Fatehpur would be constructed at a cost of Rs58 billion. It was told that Rs6.7 billion had been released for acquisition of land for the project.
The participants were informed that expression of interest for the constructing the 30-km Dir Motorway from Chakdara to Rabat had been floated.
