SWABI: Unidentified persons set on fire sugarcane bagasse in Adina village of Razaar tehsil village on Wednesday, rescue officials said.

Luqman Khan, a rescue official, said the firefighters managed to put out the blaze timely.

Nawaz Khan, the owner of bagasse, said he immediately informed the Rescue 1122, and a team arrived soon afterwards.

He said miscreants set bagasse on fire in the afternoon.

The Kalu Khan police registered an FIR against unknown suspects.

HOUSE BURGLED: Burglars took away a rifle, a pistol, a shotgun and other valuables from a house after breaking its locks in Dodher village on Tuesday night.

Separately, thieves stole seven mobile phones from a shop after entering it from an exhaust fan hole in Kalabat village on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, an unidentified thief stole water-cooler and other items from a mosque in Sector-F on Wednesday.

The locals told Dawn that the thief entered the mosque through one of the two entrance gates, which remained open incidentally, after the morning prayers.
