LOADSHEDDING: Kohat city mayor Qari Sher Zaman has warned Peshawar Electric Supply Company of public protests if it does not do away with excessive loadshedding in Ramazan.
In a message on Wednesday, he said he had met Pesco executive engineer and told him that hours long power outages had created unrest among consumers, but the latter was not mindful of the grave situation.
“I also took up the issue with the deputy commissioner and the divisional commissioner, but they also failed to resolve it. I am aware of the public anxiety, and as being their representative, it is my responsibility to address their issues,” Mr Zaman said.
He threatened that people would take to the streets if electricity loadshedding, especially during Iftar, Sehr and Taraveeh, did not end immediately.
