RAWALPINDI: Robbers and thieves struck at 17 locations across the city depriving 12 people of their motorcycles, car, pick up van and six others of gold jewellery and large amount of money.

A man and his daughter were waiting for a public transport after visiting an eye hospital near Soan when a wagon, in which two women and three men were traveling, stopped close to them and asked them where they were going.

He said he told them that they were waiting for a wagon for Kalar Syedan route. At this, the occupants of the wagon offered to drop them to Kalar Syedan as they were also going there. The man and his daughter boarded the wagon, but as it crossed the Soan Bridge, the two women grabbed gold bangles and rings the girl was wearing and pushed them out of the vehicle before fleeing.

Khuram Afzal, a resident of Lal Kurti complained to the Airport police that he was on the way to Bostan road in his car when five people traveling in two other cars blocked his way at High Court Road near Car-Chowk.

He said as he got out of his car, three of the occupants of the other cars came to him and started quarreling with him. He further said two of the individuals took control of his car in which gold worth Rs1,147,000 and Rs450,000 were lying and escaped.

Arslan Ahmed lodged a similar complaint with the Sadar Bairooni police saying burglars stole a motorcycle and Rs200,000 from his house.

Israr Ahmad, Mohammad Asharib, Waqar Qureshi, Tanveer Azam, Mohammad Abdullah, Syed Malik Shah Sherazi, Raja Nazakat Hussain, Fiaz Hussain, Khateeb al Ghafoor and Jabbar Mehmood were deprived of their motorcycles.

The police have registered separate cases and launched an investigation.
