In this most auspicious month, we are all busy spending time worshipping and also preparing for Eidul Fitr by going out for shopping and also thinking about giving a new and fresh look to our home. And, of course, who can forget the gatherings with friends and family, fun talk, photoshoots and selfies.

Yes, that’s the idea behind our craft today. We will be making a beautiful flower photo booth!

But as the craft needs more instructions and material, we will be making it in two parts, first we will make flowers of at least four types and in the next part, we will create the booth from cardboard and decorated it. You can either make the flowers by choosing any colour theme or go multi-coloured, like I have done.

Things you need:

  1. Coloured papers at least 4
  2. Double tape
  3. Scissors
  4. Pencil
  5. White glue
  6. Ruler
  7. Hot glue (optional)
  8. Compass or any round mould

  1. We will make the accordion flower first. Cut 7-inch long and 3-inch wide piece of paper and accordion fold it, picture 2.

  2. Fold the accordion in half, cut the top part in triangle and paste double tape inside and then on the outer side; pictures 3 and 4.

  3. Open the accordion, and paste the bottom side into each other forming a flower, picture 5.

  4. Let’s start with flower number 2, for this, you have to cut at least 24 circles from any coloured paper, the circumference of the circles should not exceed 2.5-inches, picture 6.

  5. Put one circle aside and fold all the others in to halves (these are the petals), picture 7.

  6. Put some glue in the middle of the circle that you put aside and stick the first petal carefully. When dry, open this petal and glue another one inside it, pictures 8 and 9.

  7. Keep pasting the petals inside each other until you reach the point from where you started, see how nice the flower looks, picture 10.

  8. The next is Gerbera flower; for this, prepare five circles of different sizes, picture 11.

  9. Fold each circle three times, picture 12.

  10. Draw two arches on each folded piece and cut it out, picture 13

  11. Unfold the paper and cut it from the arches towards the bottom, leaving some space at the end, picture 14.

  12. Carefully open the folded flower and gently fold from the edges, picture 15.

  13. Put glue on all the flowers and paste them in the order of their size from large to the smallest onto each other, and a different-coloured dot for the centre, picture 16.

  14. For our next flower which is a daisy, I have used an 8-inch piece of two-folded crape paper and cut it from the un-joined side while leaving a centimetre from the bottom.

  15. To make the centre of the flower, use 4-inch of 1cm wide paper strip, make fringe from the top side and fold it to form a coil shape; picture 17.

  16. Put this coil at the start of the crape paper piece, and gently fold while pasting hot glue inside it, picture 18 and 19.

Note: We will be using these flowers to make the photo booth in our next craft section.
