LARKANA: Heavy rain and hailstones lashed Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts and their adjoining areas on Wednesday, leading to immediate suspension of electricity supply to the area.

Local Met office recorded 37 millimeter rain with North-Westerly winds. The hailstorm and heavy rain continued for about half an hour, causing inundation in low-lying areas in Larkana city.

Thunderstorm and strong winds were also reported from Moenjodaro.

In Larkana, municipal workers could not pump out water immediately because of electricity suspension.

Reports gathered from Qubo Saeed Khan, Gaji Khuhawar, Lalu Rounk and Warah towns said the areas were battered by hailstones with intermittent rain.

Though the rain turned the weather pleasant, power outage and stagnant rainwater created problems for people. The Met office predicated more rains within 24 hours.
