Healthy fasting by eating wisely

This is with regarding the article, “Healthy fasting by eating wisely” by Rizwana Naqvi (YW, April 2). The author has discussed an important aspect regarding fasting, the diet. In summer, fasting and keeping up with studies and work becomes quite difficult. But if one consumes a balanced diet, it plays a great role in getting one through the day without much trouble.

However, most of us just binge eat at the time of Iftar, which is absolutely wrong. Keeping patience and eating the right amount of good food will keep us healthy and we won’t overeat afterwards.

My brother

This is regarding the article “My brother” by Zayna Rahman (YW, March 12).

This article is one of the best I have ever read in the magazine. It described the love and affection among siblings. Especially, the care and love of a brother to his sister. Whether they show it or not, they but are always sensitive to their sister’s needs and feelings.

The article also emphasised that it doesn’t matter if siblings are together or far from each other; what matters is the bond between them. Things one can’t share with parents, can be discussed and helped out by siblings, this makes their relation invaluable. We should respect and regard this relation, as it is irreplaceable.

Fools don’t apologise

This is regarding the article “Fools don’t apologise” by Irfan Ali (YW, March 12). I agree with the writer that most of us have a wrong notion that if we apologise for our mistakes or wrong doings, people will consider us weak and coward. Therefore, to protect our ego and show that we are not guilty, we remain unapologetic.

This is absolutely wrong. Accepting our mistakes needs a big heart, me must accept and step forward for your mistake. Apologising maintains our relationships with our beloved ones. We are humans, sometimes we make mistakes, so we must accept them.

The pigeon with one leg

This is regarding the story “The pigeon with one leg” by Saira Owais Adil (YW, March 5).

The story highlighted a message that no matter how hard life gets, or how much hardships we face, we should never give up. We must rise ourselves from hardships of life just like the one leg pigeon in this story. The struggle of the pigeon is a wonderful example that if a bird never leaves its struggle and keeps on going with whatever life has to offer, why can’t we?
