LAHORE: Gunmen deprived several citizens of their belongings here on Sunday.

Two gunmen intercepted Shafiq in the Nawab Town area, held him at gunpoint and snatched Rs400,000.

In the Hadyara area, four robbers barged into the residence of Shaharyar, collected gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones and other valuables worth over Rs370,000 and escaped.

Three gunmen made their forced entry into the residence of Qurban in the Kot Lakhpat area and fled with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth over Rs215,000.

Similarly, four robbers broke into the house of Maqbool in the Shadbagh area and made off with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth over Rs276,000.

Three armed men forced their entry into the residence of Azeem in Samanabad and took away cash, and mobile phones worth over Rs135,000.

In the Sabzazar area, two robbers held motorcycle rider Illyas and deprived him of Rs62,000.

The gunmen also intercepted and held up Umar in the Gulshan-i-Ravi area, and made off with cash and other valuables worth over Rs50,000.

In Qilla Gujjar Singh, two armed people riding a motorcycle held Adil at gunpoint and fled with Rs20,000.

Two armed men stopped Essa in Shahdara and looted Rs15,000 from him.

Robbers and thieves also took away over 50 motorcycles and vehicles from various parts of the city.

The areas included Sundar, Liaqatabad, Shahdara, Sattokatla, Wahdat Colony, Bhatti Gate, Factory Area, Baghbanpura, Iqbal Town, Kahna New Anarkali, Shadman, Gulberg, Kot Lakhpat, Nishtar Colony etc. Also, the police recovered four bodies from various parts of the city here on Sunday.

A male body was found hanged in the Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Area. A passerby alerted the police, which arrived at the site and shifted the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

A police official said the man, yet to be identified, might have died by suicide.

The police also found a male body in a drain in the Shahdara area and another one on a road near Mughalpura.

He said the police shifted bodies to the city morgue for autopsy and launched investigations into the incidents.
