KARACHI: A teenage girl has gone missing in a Malir area, it emerged on Sunday.
The family has lodged a kidnapping FIR against unknown.
Complainant Nargis Nadeem Syed stated that she worked as a lady health worker and went for work on April 20 while her daughter, Nimra Kazmi, 15, was home in Saudabad, Malir.
When she returned at around 10:30am, her daughter was not home. She tried to contact her on her two cell phone numbers, but in vain. She approached her all relatives and neighbours, but could not get any information about her whereabouts.
She apprehended that her daughter might have been kidnapped.
THe FIR was lodged under Section 365-B (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel for marriage etc) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
SSP-Investigation Arbaiz Ali Abbasi said that police were working on the case.
The missing girl was said to be a student of matric.
Meanwhile, the girl’s mother urged the Sindh chief minister and police chief to take measures for early recovery of her daughter.
Shah Faisal Colony SP Wajahat Husain visited Saudabad and met the missing girl’s family.
He told the media that police were reviewing CCTV footage being obtained from the areas.
He said during an initial probe it was transpired that a boy had been in touch with the girl for the past one month through her cell phone.
According to SP Husain, the boy’s cell phone location had been traced to Lahore. He said they were probing the incident from different aspects, adding that concerted efforts were under way to trace the girl.
This is the second incident in Korangi district as earlier, another teenager girl, Dua Zehra, went missing from Green Town.
