TAXILA: Experts at a seminar on Tuesday stressed the need for implementing strict preventive measures to avoid malaria which was the second most prevalent and devastating disease.
The seminar was organised by district health authority (DHA) to commemorate World Malaria Day in Attock on Tuesday.
Experts informed participants that malaria, one of the six priority communicable diseases, affects around 300,000 Pakistanis per year while causing 50,000 deaths.
They said as mosquito season had started in Pakistan and people should be more careful not only for themselves but for other family members especially children.
