KARACHI: President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will, most probably, announce the name of the Chief Minister of Sind today [April 29]. In addition, the swearing-in of the new Governor may also take place today. This development in Sind’s political scene emerged from the unanimous authorisation given to Mr Bhutto yesterday by the PPP members-elect to the Provincial Assembly to nominate the Sind Assembly Party Leader.

[Meanwhile, as reported by the newspaper’s special representative from Rawalpindi,] The emissaries of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and President Bhutto today [April 28] shifted the venue of their talks from Murree to Rawalpindi and maintained “satisfactory progress”. … Earlier in the morning, Mr Dhar called on President Bhutto and remained with him for over an hour. … After the talks today, Mr Aziz Ahmad had a telephonic conversation with President Bhutto who had left for Karachi. Some foreign newsmen who were able to contact Mr Dhar after the talks this evening said the Indian Prime Minister’s emissary indicated to them that he had suggested at the talks today that there should be another meeting at the emissaries level… .
