Hey kids, in our previous craft section, “Easy flowers” (YW, April 16), we learnt to make different types of paper flowers. Today, we will make a photo booth, or you can say a canvas and decorate it with these and many more flowers.
So let’s start to make the frame from the cardboard.
Things you need:
- Coloured papers, glitter sheets or hard paper sheet (to be pasted on the frame).
- Cardboard (large recommended, you can use any flattened carton).
- Hot glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
- White glue
- Decorating stuff, (pompoms and beads, optional)
- Paper cutter
- Ruler
Directions:
Either you choose a particular theme of colours or go multi-coloured, make a minimum of three large flowers, six medium-sized and four small flowers and at least 10 leaves of different sizes, picture 2.
I didn’t have the large cardboard, so I used the hard paper sheet for my frame; I then cut the cardboard length-wise and pasted it on the back of the frame. To make it simpler, we are making a rectangular frame, you can make square, oval or in any other shape. So with the help of a pencil and ruler, draw the boundary of the frame, picture 3.
Draw another rectangle inside the first one. I kept the top side of the frame wider that is 5-inch, while the other three sides are 3-inch wide, picture 4
Using the paper cutter, cut out the rectangle shape from inside very carefully, picture 5.
Carefully paste the cardboard pieces on the main frame with the hot glue, this makes the canvas hard, pictures 6, 7 and 8.
Our frame is ready and it will look as in picture 9.
It’s time to decorate the frame. Arranging the flowers
and leaves completely depend on you. Either you choose a corner or the top part, first arrange them and see what looks better, picture 10.
I am decorating only the top of the frame; so after arranging the flowers, paste them with hot glue on their respective place and then paste the leaves around them, pictures 11 and 12.
You can write any catch-phrase, the title of the occasion or even the date on any side of the frame.
Our beautiful flower photo booth frame is ready! Surprise your family and friends on this Eid day and capture the happy moments in a wonderful way!
