LOWER DIR: The female teachers of Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) in Malakand division on Saturday demanded Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to take notice of their miseries and release their salaries for the last 10 months.
Talking to mediapersons here in Timergara, the representatives of these teachers claimed that the federal government had released Rs1 billion to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for the purpose, but the Elementary and Secondary Education Department was deliberately delaying the payment of salaries.
They said that the teachers of Basic Education Community Schools had not been paid for the last 10 months. They said that the federal government had handed over the Basic Education Community Schools to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary Education Foundation till June 30, but due to lack of interest on the part of foundation the matter had not been resolved.
